It was inaugurated in 1965 and designed by Javier Arana having wide fairways, greens quite flat, easy to walk very well maintained and protected by the surrounding bunkers.
Rio Real Golf is one of the top 3 courses in the Costa del Sol, and in 2002 it was considered the most improved course of the year.
