Fuente de Piedra, Malaga

Fuente de Piedra is situated on a practically flat area, surrounded by the Sierras de Mollina mountain range.
It's surface area is 90.1 sqare kms & it's population is about 2,200.

The well-known lake Laguna de Fuente de Piedra at Fuente de Piedra is in the municipality, one of the biggest tourist attractions in the area and a place of very important ecological value. The lake is 19 km from Antequera, in the north of Malaga province in Andalucia. It is a heaven for birds with over 170 different species recorded here. Apart from its abundant aquatic birds, it is well known for its flamingo population, the second largest colony of these birds in Europe after the French Camargue region and the only inland site on the continent where they breed.

Getting there:

he A-45 (N-331) freeway that goes to Antequera connects on the outskirts of that town with the A-92. Turn towards Seville on the latter road and you will arrive at Fuente de Piedra in a little less than 20 kilometres.
