Entertainment & Nightlife in Andalusia
There is no end to what you can do here as the life is pulsating with action owing to the opulent traditions, culture, art and very friendly people. Think Spain and the names which first leap to mind are fiesta, flamenco and bull fights. Andalusia has put Spain on the international tourism scene with its very own traditions- the vibrant Flamenco, bull fights, and the best of fiestas in Spain.
Every province & city in Spain is blessed by its own patron saint, and all through the year, numerous carnivals and fiestas are celebrated in their worship. Although religious in spirit, they are characterised by their dazzling colours, lively music, & vigorous dances. |
Some of the most famous carnivals like the Feria de Abril, and Cadiz Carnival- are celebrated in the provinces of Andalusia like Seville and Cadiz.
The tradition of bull fighting in Spain was started by the Romans, and passionately preserved by the Spaniards. Today, they are considered an art form and the matadors are professionals and on par with soccer stars in terms of earnings and popularity. Every city has its local Plaza de Toros, where bull-fights are held during the feast days; the bull run of San Fermin makes for a frightfully thrilling scene when hundreds of people run together through the narrow streets in front of a charging bull, oblivious to any danger
Flamenco is another art form which has captivated the whole world, and is the most popular cultural export of Spain. It was originally the traditional dance form of the gypsies, has been enriched by the Andalusian influences of song and music; and also the folklore resulting from the history of the many civilizations which ruled here. There are three variants of the flamenco: The song or Cante, Dance: Baile, and Guitarra, guitar playing. So, this is the place to be if you are looking for electrifying action.
If you want to enjoy your vacation differently, you can join pottery classes where you can discover the art of traditional Spanish pottery making; or try your hand at painting and capture the mesmerising landscapes on canvas. Special classes and courses are conducted for tourists to enable them to learn these skills. You can encounter a different aspect of Spain with the wine tasting tours and culinary tours conducted all through the region. You can take home some delicious Spanish dishes by learning the recipes in the cookery classes here.
